Obsession Mirage

Wen Yin was expected to get into Peking or Tsinghua. She failed the college entrance examination. Her parents got her back to their small town on a pretext and married her off. Two months after the wedding her husband died, and she found she was pregnant. Her mother-in-law was sharp with her, her husband's younger brother looked at her the way he did, and the town talked about her because of how she looked. Her daughter, Mercy, lost her voice through illness. Wen Yin took the girl to the capital and went to Julian Lennard, her husband's older half-brother, to find treatment for the child's vocal cords.
