Doomed Love

Anna grew up in an orphanage and became the top student at her medical school. Blake was the only son of the Qi family, one of the ruling criminal families in the city, and he was prepared to give up his money and his position for her. The two planned to leave together for another city. On the night before they were to go, Blake had a coughing fit, brought up blood, and collapsed. When he came round he had no memory of Anna. Blake's mother paid Anna to break it off, and Anna left. She was pregnant, and she raised the daughter alone. Five years later Anna is a surgeon with a reputation of her own, working without any support from Blake's family. Blake is engaged to Carina. Anna and Blake meet again at the hospital. He does not know who she is and cannot account for the pull he feels toward her. Carina sees it, and she starts working on both of them, arranging the misunderstandings that keep them apart.
