The Mob Boss Substitute

Isabella, a schoolteacher, wants to leave her husband and be left alone. She has caught him in an affair, divorced him in anger, and gone. She is kidnapped before she gets far. When she comes to she is told she has been mistaken for the head of a crime syndicate, a woman who has died, and that she is now expected to take that woman's place at the top of the organization. Saying no would get her killed, so she takes the seat. She has to manage the syndicate's own people as well as the police, and in between she quietly looks into who arranged the mix-up and why. The person she eventually identifies as being behind it has a connection to her own origins.
