The Choices of Fate

Kate and Amelia Morse lost their mother, and their father remarried. Their grandmother on their mother's side came and asked to take both girls to raise. Their father, minding how it would look, agreed to let her take only one. Amelia had read their mother's diary and knew the grandmother was the richest woman in the city, so she went, and found herself living poor in the countryside instead. Kate stayed, and years later married into the Warren family. On the day that match was announced, Amelia, eaten up with envy, attacked her sister and then turned on herself. Both girls come back at fifteen, on the day of the choice, and this time Amelia says she will stay with her father and stepmother.
