The Perfect Husband

Kayla Harrison's father is an oil tycoon, and his best friend and business partner has a son, Jack Harrison. The marriage was arranged between the two families. Kayla went through with it. Three years in, the companies are doing well under the two of them and Kayla still cannot make herself love her husband, who works hard at being an ideal one. She lets it look as if Jack is the one failing the marriage while she resumes things with Maxwell, her boyfriend from high school, the man she would have married if her parents had allowed it. Then Jack asks her directly what he could do better. Kayla points him at a marriage counselor a friend recommended. The counselor is Sara. Jack finds himself drawn to her across the sessions. Sara keeps her distance at first, aware of what her job requires, and then admits to herself that she wants him too. Jack tells her he will protect her.
