A Fated Encounter

Emma is put in her half-sister Bella's place at the wedding. Her father Henry arranges it, and the price of refusing is that he stops paying her mother's medical bills. Everyone expects the groom to be an old, ugly rich man. He turns out to be Tommy Anderson, the black sheep of the Anderson family, and not old at all. Emma tells herself the marriage is a contract to keep both families quiet. Tommy grows fond of her, backs her career without telling her, and steps in when she needs protecting. Emma starts falling for him. The reason Tommy agreed to the marriage in the first place is not what Emma has been told, and when it comes out she has her pride on one side and her mother's hospital bills on the other.
