The Reaper's Gaze: Living With the Countdown

Sara Wright is a fishmonger with a husband, a son in school, and a mother-in-law who gambles. Then a power wakes in her, and above the head of anyone who is going to die she can see a countdown to the moment. Her son's school holds an anniversary celebration. Her mother-in-law, who owes money from gambling, plans an explosion at the event so she can extort the school to cover the debt. Sara's husband, Chad Miller, learns of the plan and takes it over for a purpose of his own. He wants his son dead so that his mistress will be pleased, and he means to use his mother's plan to get it done.
