Rory, a student, was preparing for her final exams when she was moved into the world of a novel she had already read. She woke in the body of the novel's wastrel heir, the only legitimate child of a duke who also served as chancellor. The duke kept many concubines and had ten children by them. The heir's mother had dressed the child as a boy from early childhood and passed her off as a son. By the time Rory arrived, the heir had a reputation as arrogant and idle, with a habit of harassing good-looking men, and the man she harassed most was Yisroel, the novel's male lead. In the version Rory had read, Yisroel later took the throne, and the heir was one of the minor villains removed after his coronation. Rory met Yisroel soon after arriving.
