Ye He met Shen Que the summer she turned eighteen. She was the poor student at the school, scraping through, and he was the one everything was handed to. They fell in love anyway. Their families were nowhere near each other in money or standing, and then there was an incident nobody wanted to speak about, and the two of them were pulled apart. Seven years go by. Ye He is teaching at a middle school. Shen Que comes back from abroad to start a company, and they run into each other again. He sets out to get her back and keeps at it for a long stretch, wanting to be more in her life this time than the short run of moonlight he was at eighteen.
