SSS-Rank:The Slum-Born Thunder God

In this world a person's Awakening decides what they are worth, and rank runs everything from school placement to family standing. Nate Ryder's Awakening is written down as a failure, so everyone treats him as a washout. What he actually awakened is the Thunder God talent, SSS-level, the rarest there is, and he tells no one. His family is poor. His father sold blood over years to pay for an awakening serum, and his mother has been bedridden for a decade. At school Tyler Ashworth, an A-rank prodigy from money, singles Nate out, and the serum his father bought gets smashed. The academy administrators side with Tyler and move to bar Nate from the exam and from the Federal Awakened Selection Tournament. Nate keeps his power hidden, partly to protect his mother, and trains where nobody watches. At the tournament he is matched against Tyler in front of the stands, and there he stops hiding.
