Serving the Wrong Sister

Vera Carlton's stepmother and stepsister get her drunk one night, and she ends up tangled up with Jack Edmunds without meaning to. The two of them keep feeding her hormone pills after that, and she puts on a great deal of weight. She spends the next year working the weight back off. Once she is thin again, she is talked into going to a matchmaking event under false pretenses, and the numbered tags handed out at the door get switched around, which puts her across the table from Jack, who has been looking for her since that night without knowing her name. They marry on the spot and sign a contract laying out the terms of the arrangement. The two of them live together and start to feel something neither of them signed up for. Jack works out that she is the woman from that night and tells her how he feels. The contract stays in the drawer while the marriage turns into the real thing, and the stepmother and stepsister answer for what they did.
