Mr. Officer Steals Her Heart

Jiang Lu's mother died in what was recorded as an accident, and there was more to it than that. Jiang Lu teaches English at a middle school and wants a settled sort of life. Her elders arrange an introduction to Song Kui, who runs a criminal investigation team, and she nearly pulls out of it, because his work is dangerous and keeps him out in the field, and the two families are far apart in money. Song Kui was taken with her from the first meeting. He keeps at it, patiently, over a long stretch, and they end up together. Once things are serious he finds out what was covered up about her mother's death, and he starts working the case on his own, with very little to go on.
