Back to 1989: Love & Hustle

Claire Merrick wants to go to university, and she wants to go with her boyfriend, Ethan Wallace. One autumn in the 1980s the results come in. Ethan gets a place and Claire fails the exam. She follows him to Jiangcheng anyway. In the city one thing after another turns her against him. He lies to her, and in the end he betrays her, and she is left with nothing. Logan Griffith, a teacher at the university, takes her in. With his backing she sets up a stall in the street. Over the same months Ethan's real character shows itself, and Logan, who deals with her honestly and without hurry, gets closer to her. The stall becomes a shop that sells clothes, and the shop becomes a business.
