The Champion She Buried

Damian Cole was Adrian Cross's coach. Five years ago Adrian, a world champion, needed money for his son Leo's heart surgery and for his wife Serena's company, so he confessed to a doping offence he had not committed and went to prison. Damian took over the Global Combat League. Leo grew up believing his father was a cheat. Adrian comes back and works nights as a janitor. He pulls a fighter out of a collapse caused by an experimental enhancer, and in doing so his record as the league's secret founder surfaces, along with a controlling stake that has been frozen. He works back through switched test samples and fixed matches to a doping programme aimed at young athletes, and finds that Damian has been dosing Leo. In an underground ring Adrian has to fight his own son, break what has been done to him, and then take on Damian with him.
