Fate Rewritten: A Mother's Second Chance

Lexa's son died in her arms once. She comes back to a point before that with the boy alive and small, and what she wants out of the second life is for him to reach an ordinary age with none of it happening. Her husband's family had a use for the child. Her mother-in-law needed blood for a grandson on the Zhao side, and the husband took the boy off to give it. This time Lexa sees the approach coming and sets the ground up in advance, answering each move as it is made, so the in-laws and the Zhaos both stay off him. She tells a lie about the boy's father to keep him out of their reach, and the lie brings out the fact. Gavin, the university classmate who had stood on her side of every fight, is the father. His people rank well above the Zhaos, and once they hear whose grandson was being handled the word from them is that anyone who touches him gets wiped out.
