The Price of Lies

Mason Innes was taken into the family and raised alongside Rosie Harris. When he came to them owing a million, Rosie and her mother took on the work of paying it off, cutting back on themselves and sending him everything that was left over. Her mother kept at it until the work made her ill. Mason spent the money on another woman, including the money meant for her mother's treatment, and when the mother needed him he did not come. After the funeral Rosie found out that Mason had never owed anyone a million. He made the debt up to see what she would do for him. Around the same time her birth father came back, a man who had been gone for years and had become one of the richest in the country. Rosie went after Mason and the rest of them.
