You Are the Only One

Lily Millers works as a reporter for a newspaper. She marries the actor Oscar Stewart quickly, and the two of them agree to keep the marriage off the record. What she cannot have is the ordinary version of it. Oscar goes on to announce in an interview that he is married, without naming his wife, and the industry starts guessing who Mrs. Stewart is. Her half-sister Beatrice Millers tells people she is the one who married the actor. Beatrice also believes Lily has married a pauper and treats her accordingly, at the newspaper and on set, where their work keeps putting them in the same rooms. Lily says nothing and takes it, because saying otherwise would end the secret. She keeps reporting, keeps turning up on set, and works around Beatrice's claims one day at a time. She also hears that Oscar has carried a first love for years, and she has no reason to think it is her.
