From Nothing to Everything: Forever in Our Hands

Walter Peele is working as a waiter in a KTV bar when he comes across Naomi Dryer, who runs Dyer Corp, after a client has drugged her drink. He steps in and gets her away from the man. She sleeps with him that night to work the drug out of her system, and in the morning she is gone, taking one of the two matching pendants he wore. Six years later Walter is hauling bricks on a Dyer Corp construction site, earning what he can toward the medical bills of the adoptive mother who raised him and is now unresponsive in a hospital bed. The other labourers rib him for still being single. Naomi comes to the site to inspect the work, bringing a small girl named Tanya, who spots the pendant hanging at Walter's neck, sees that it matches her own, and calls him Dad in front of everyone standing there.
