The Scientist They Tried to Destroy

The Scientist They Tried to Destroy

Synopsis

Susan's new lung-cancer medicine is nearly destroyed when Howard pays patients to accuse her of selling a fake cure. In court, a respected professor validates the formula and Susan produces proof of the bribery, while Howard's unsafe imitation later sickens patients and brings down his company. Susan withstands public attacks for selling an earlier formula to Ark Pharmaceuticals, then announces Anti-Cancer No. 2, refuses Ark's 100-billion buyout, and prices it at 2,000 per box with half reimbursed by insurance so ordinary patients can obtain it.

Episode 1 might make you go "what IS this lunatic" and bail. He's my favorite short-drama actor and even I hesitated. Please stay with it!! The acting is unreal, the way his eyes go, the way he smiles, each one gets me >_<

My favorite of his modern-set work and honestly my favorite short drama full stop. You get the complete unhinged-psycho performance, and I'd say his acting leveled up here. If you're working through his filmography, this is the one.

The plot is hard to follow and never really comes together. With all the flashbacks and dream sequences, the pacing has no tension at all…
