Wrong Sedan, Right Prince

Nina Bale led armies and was good at it. A serious wound ended that, and her father Ian resigned his own post to nurse her through it, which left the household to Leah Lowe, his other wife. Leah moved fast. She arranged for Nina to be married to a sick man not expected to live long, and secured Prince Neil, the most prestigious match available, for her own daughter Tara. Both weddings were set for the same day. The bridal sedans got switched. Nobody noticed until the veils came up at two different houses, and by then the ceremonies were finished and could not be undone. Tara is the wife of the dying man. Nina is consort to Prince Neil, a marriage she never agreed to and a household she does not know, with a husband who understands exactly what his stepmother in law tried to do.
