Sorry Dad, I’m Better than Your Son!

Clara Colman was born into a family that valued sons. Her mother worked without a word of complaint, and Clara studied hard to prove that a girl could do as much as a boy. Her father took no notice of either of them and wanted only a son. A car accident broke the household apart. Clara's mother was badly hurt in it, and at the moment when it mattered her father left her where she lay and went to save his mistress and the boy he had fathered with her. Clara's mother died in hospital. Clara decided she would keep quiet no longer. When the national exam results were published she had the highest score in the country. At the banquet held for the top scorer she walked up to her father, put the result in front of him and asked for justice for her mother.
