My Useless Daughter is A Grand General?

An army from the north came into Veridia, and Lord Quinn was poisoned and left unconscious in the days before he was due to ride out against it. Liana was the daughter he thought least of. She went to the emperor and asked to go in her father's place, dressed as a man to do it, and fought under the name Stormwing. She died on the field. She had proved to herself by then that a daughter was no worse to have than a son, and she was content with that. News of her death had not reached home yet. Lord Quinn woke up, took the general everyone was talking about for the son one of his concubines had borne him, and put out a story that his own daughter had run off with a stage performer. Liana's spirit was in the house and heard him say it. While the family was celebrating, the emperor brought her coffin back to the city himself and gave orders for a state funeral. Lord Quinn was still saying he would cut her out of the family and take the consort title off her dead mother. He found out afterwards what she had done. He stopped eating, sat with prayers, and went to his bed sick. Liana came back in another body as a princess of Montclair, with the whole of the first life still in her head, and stood in front of her father a second time. In that house she had a brother who was good to her.
