She Roars Back

Flora retired from the army as a general and moved to the countryside with her adopted daughter Anna. They sold fish and lived quietly. Then Anna's birth parents turned up and said they wanted to take her home. Anna wanted parents, so Flora let her go. What waited for Anna was the basement of her birth family's house. She was locked in it and used as medicine for her sister Ginny, blood and cells drawn out of her day after day. Three months passed with no word. Flora went to the house and walked into Ginny's wedding. She had brought a wedding gift and had assumed Anna was helping with the preparations. The bride was not her daughter. Anna had been beaten close to death and put inside a trunk. Flora found her that way and turned on the family that had done it.
