Cheating Death 2

A gambling ring called the Scorpions runs the games in one rural county, and cheating at cards there is a business with a chain of command. Peter, who works as an anti-cheating specialist, goes back to the village for his mother's birthday and uses the trip to look into the ring. At the birthday dinner his childhood friend Ian Tong and a cousin push him into a game meant to take everything the family owns. Peter plays as though he has never held cards, loses bets on purpose, and works out each method they are using, then turns them back one at a time. The ring's real head, Victor Sun, turns up. Peter knew him before. Victor was responsible for the death of Peter's teacher, and by then the family's safety is part of what is on the table.
