Cheating Death

Richard's son has been drawn into a rigged gambling operation and is losing everything to it. Richard had gone to prison for ten years for a death he caused without meaning to, and while he was inside another inmate taught him how to read and beat a cheat at the table. He came out to find his son already in. He tried talking him out of it and got nowhere, so he sat down at the table himself to show his son what was actually being done to him. Then his wife is taken, and the games stop being about his son. Behind the operation is an old arrangement that reaches back to how Richard's father died.
