Qian Dayong waits until the software is bringing in 5 million a month before he pushes his partner out. The partner is Lin Chuan, a close friend, who built the program with him under an agreement to split the profits fifty-fifty. Qian Dayong keeps the company and the income for himself. Lin Chuan had backed up the source code before any of this and registered the copyright, so the proof of who wrote the software is already in his hands. He leaves, brings a team together, and puts out an upgraded version of the app with AI built into it. It catches on as soon as it launches. He then files a copyright suit against Qian Dayong.
