GPS Led Me to My Wife's Affair

Jacob Nolan takes his wife's car and lets the built-in navigation guide him home. It routes him to an apartment complex he has never been to. That is how he finds out that his wife Kate Ruben has been sleeping with Ryan Lange, the PhD student she supervises. He does not confront her. He calls four women he grew up with, whose careers he has watched from a distance: a top-tier lawyer, a hacker who can get into anything, a financial adviser, and a fighter. All four are startled, because Jacob has always been the man who would do anything for his wife, and here he is arranging a divorce without hesitating. The further they dig the worse it gets. Kate had taken Jacob's academic work and handed it to Ryan, who built his dissertation out of it. Jacob sees no reason to let another man wear what he made. He waits for Ryan's doctoral defense, with the committee seated and the room full, and takes the truth apart in public himself.
