Heather Kirk's mother left behind debts, and her younger brother Florian is an addict. Heather is the one paying for both. Declan Reed, the CEO she works under, once got her out of a threat from gangsters, and she signs a contract to become his mistress. The arrangement is meant to be a way out. Declan's feelings for her grow past the terms of the contract, and Heather works out that she is standing in for his ex-girlfriend Maeve. Maeve comes back wanting revenge and uses Florian to get at Declan. Heather learns she is pregnant. Maeve's plan turns into a violent confrontation, and Declan gets Heather out of it in time. Florian checks himself into rehab.
