Mavis Hoover opens her eyes as the cruel stepmother of the Saul household. She is a tiger demon a hundred years old, sent down to the mortal world by Heaven to go through the seven emotions and six desires that people have, and the stepmother's body is where she landed. Getting through the trial means playing the part, so she becomes a good wife and mother: she stands over the stepchildren, earns money to keep the household going, and clears out the traitors.
