Don't Touch My Wife! The Last Trial of Odysseus

Twenty years after leaving Ithaca, first for the war and then for the long way home by sea, Odysseus lands on his own coast. The palace is full of men who have moved in to eat his stores and press his wife into naming one of them her husband, and the household staff have taken sides. Athena puts him in a beggar's body and rags so he can walk into his own hall and be turned away at his own door. Penelope has been holding the suitors off for years with delays she invents one after another, and she sets a final one: a contest with her husband's bow, which none of the men in the hall can string. Odysseus moves through the palace in the disguise, working out which servants stayed loyal, which of the suitors is running the rest of them, and how close his son and his father are to being killed, while the contest is set up around him.
