A Second Vow

Serena Sterling agrees to marry Jason Stone on paper because her adoptive parents have lined up a match for her with the idle son of a rich house and she can see no other way out of it. She has been through these years once already. In that first life her fiancé had her killed, and she came back to the day of her kidnapping, three years before it. She knows what is coming, so she gives up her turn to be pulled out and lets someone else go instead. That leaves her in danger, and a man gets her out of it. Afterwards she says in front of everyone that her fiancé had claimed credit for a rescue he had nothing to do with, and she calls off the engagement. Only once the marriage contract is settled does she work out that Jason Stone is the man who came for her that day. He backs her against the family that raised her and against the man she was engaged to, and the two of them go looking into what actually happened at the kidnapping.
