Embracing the Clear Sky

Anna Harper and Sean Potter marry because their families introduce them and both sets of parents want it settled. They barely know each other on the wedding day. Afterward Anna takes a job at SkyAir, the airline where Sean already works, so the two of them are now sharing a home and a workplace at the same time. The daily overlap does most of the work. They learn each other's habits, find out what the other one is like under pressure at the airline, and the trust builds up in ordinary increments. Problems come at them from the job and from their families, and they start handling those together rather than separately, which is roughly the point at which the arranged part of the marriage stops mattering. The affection turns out to be real, and the life they build on top of the arrangement is a settled one.
