Nurturing the Night

Ye Xin'er's mother was being held, and Li Jinyan's way of getting her out was to agree to a marriage alliance he had no intention of honoring. He did not explain this to Ye Xin'er. From where she stood it looked like he had gone over to the other side, and she carried that reading of him for two years. When they meet again, the Ling family is still sitting on what it did to Ye Chuanxiong, and there is a painting whose image changes with heat that holds the proof of it. The two of them work out a way to use it at a charity dinner, in front of the guests, and what comes out of the paint is the evidence that the Lings framed him. The Ling family goes down. With that settled, Ye Xin'er and Li Jinyan finally get the two years straightened out between them, and they turn to the underground casino next.
