The Crimson Blade

In the noble house that Ye Qingling is married into, the widow of a dead heir can be sent into the tomb with him as a burial companion, and the Grand Princess has the say over whether it happens. Ye Qingling is a daughter of the Ye family by a concubine, and the family uses her as a stand-in bride for the house's heir, who is critically ill. He dies on the wedding night. The Grand Princess wants her buried with him, and she gets out of it by a narrow margin. After that she needs someone inside the house to keep her alive, and she takes the risk of approaching the dead man's younger brother, Wei Hengzhi, a cold-hearted man. She fakes a pregnancy and builds on the lie step by step to get close to him. The pretence pulls the two of them into an attraction that a widow and her brother-in-law are not allowed to have, and at the same time the house is drawn into a fight over power that neither of them can keep out of.
