The Tin Shack Chef's Glory

Zhang Jianguo is dismissed from the state-owned restaurant where he has cooked for twenty years when the restaurant is restructured. He puts up a tin shack beside the provincial road, cooks there with a clear conscience, and sells honestly. The restaurant passes to his nephew, who wants fast money. The nephew offends an investor, an overseas Chinese man who has come back to put money into his home town, and an investment worth millions comes close to falling through. Zhang Jianguo meets the investor by chance and the hometown flavor of his cooking wins the man over. The old brand comes back to life on the strength of it. After that Zhang Jianguo runs into a market monopoly, a block on his ingredients, and accusations that are made up against him. He keeps the food from his shack safe through all of it, and the shack starts growing into a chain.
