The man Kate Smith marries on the day she runs from her wedding is Frank Reed, the same man she ran from. She does not know that. She takes him for a driver with no money to his name, and he lets her go on believing it. Her family had arranged the marriage to Frank, the heir of a billionaire family, and she wanted no part of it, so she bolted from the altar. On the road she asked a stranger for help. He keeps up the driver story, and the longer they live under one roof the more comes out about each of them. The lie is found out in the end, with the two of them still living in the same house.
