Your Time Is Up

Cole Collins met Madelyn Rogers when her car hit him. He delivered food and she ran Xs Corp, and what he came away from the accident with was the ability to see a countdown over every person's head showing how much life they had left. Madelyn's was nearly finished. He told her she was about to be killed and she did not believe him. That same day he took an order up to a hotel room and found his wife there with the man she had been seeing. The two of them humiliated him. Madelyn came in while it was going on, the thing Cole had seen coming arrived with her, and he got her clear of it. Afterwards he dealt with his wife and her lover in public. He started appraising antiques and betting on uncut jade, took a rich man who had pushed him around for everything in one of those bets, and turned old pieces into money. Women who had looked past him at the door began to notice him.
