Late Bloomer

A wealthy man told his driver to seduce his wife. The driver was handsome and strong, and the arrangement was that the wife would be caught in an affair and would leave the house with nothing, after which the man would be free for his mistress. The wife came under suspicion. The driver was pulled between what he had been told to do and what he felt, and he took the wife's side and protected her. A woman running one of the teams around them made her own move for money and independence by irregular means. The plan was uncovered. The man and his mistress were both punished. The driver went back to the countryside.
