Twenty years ago Eric's business failed and his wife walked out and left him with three small children. Quinley, an old friend of his, ran into him by chance and began helping in the house. The two became a couple. She gave up the life she had before and stayed. Over the years she raised the three children to adulthood and worked alongside Eric until his business recovered. After twenty years the ex-wife came back. The children sided with their birth mother, and the family put Quinley out. Quinley cut off contact with all of them. The family business then ran into trouble. The ex-wife did none of the work of a mother or a wife in the house. Eric and the children went looking for Quinley and tried to bring her back. By then she had moved away and started over.
