Louise Jones was engaged to Kendall Patterson. Quinn Thompson offered Kendall a way to become a god, and in exchange Kendall had the whole Jones family killed. Louise climbed to the Ninth Heaven to demand justice for it. The gods there turned her away and threw her back down. She jumped into the Styx and woke to who she had been in an earlier life, the demon god Taella. With an ally she set out to wake Girgyn. The gods closed in on the two of them and they got away into Girgyn's dream. Quinn and Kendall followed them in to hunt them down there. Neither of the two had ever let go of what they wanted, and their coming in was what brought Girgyn awake.
