When Fate Forgets to Lie

Ivy takes her daughter to the hospital and the doctor who comes in to treat her is Harrison, who she was with seven years ago. She has a different name now and looks different enough that he does not place her, and he has no idea the child on the table is his. Seeing him puts her back in everything she left behind. She would rather not be there at all, but her daughter needs a doctor and he is the doctor, so she manages it. Circumstances keep pulling the two of them into the same rooms after that, more often than either of them arranges. Harrison cannot work out why this woman feels familiar. Something in him recognizes her before he has anything to reason from, and it keeps recognizing her while he keeps failing to understand why.
