Faye was born with a fate of poverty. She trained on the mountain as a healer, and her master put her out and told her to make her own way below. On the road she found an old woman in trouble and saved her life. The woman, Mrs. Hayes, took her home and adopted her. In the house Faye called Jackson Hayes, the head of the family, her father. Jackson used a wheelchair and had no use of his legs. Faye treated the legs and worked on the dark energy sitting over him, and the people around her kept the schemes of outsiders off her while she did it. A jade pendant dropped out of her clothes. It was the same as the one Jackson had been carrying.
