Anna came down the mountain on her own and turned up at the Nova Go Club, which Parker Jordan ran. Her teacher Glenn had run out of money and could not keep her, so he sent her to Parker. The club had a Go problem on the board called the Sovereign Gambit that had gone twenty years without a solution. Anna solved it in a night. Parker took her into the club. Owl arrived not long after. He was called the Go King and he wanted a match. Anna took his attacks apart a move at a time, and when it was over he went down on his knees and asked her to take him as a student. Once things had settled Parker told her what he had been working toward. He wanted a place in the Zenith Go Championship. His wife was dead and he had never found out how it happened, and there was a daughter he had lost as well.
