Aria Sinclair married Christopher, CEO of Sterling Group, under an arrangement made in exchange for a life being saved, and stayed six years. The marriage was not made public and he ignored her in it. She was also his anonymous pen pal, writing under the name Maple, and he told that correspondent everything. Savannah Prescott took over the pen pal identity and everything attached to it. Around the same time the circumstances of the death of Aria's adoptive father turned out not to hold together.
