A Simmering Romance (Japanese ver.)

Jiang Li comes from a poor family and pays her own way through her studies. To cover tuition she takes a part-time job in the Huo household, and there meets Huo Yanzhi, the family's CEO, a cold man. Their first meeting produces a misunderstanding. Huo Yanzhi forms a low opinion of her from it and rejects her harshly, and Jiang Li withdraws, keeping her grievance to herself. Later she runs into Huo Yanzhi's mother by chance. The mother gets to the bottom of what happened, clears up the misunderstanding, and learns how hard Jiang Li's circumstances are. Huo Yanzhi, once he has been told the truth, seeks Jiang Li out and starts looking after her. Over time he falls in love with her. Jiang Li, for her part, lets go of her resentment by degrees, and the two of them grow close.
