Breaking Free From Their Thirst

Shawn Falkner needs blood, and his younger brother Alex was born to supply it. Shawn turns the rest of the family against Alex, and the mistreatment goes on for years alongside the donations. The one person who is kind to Alex is Faye Cole, and she agrees to get engaged to him. Faye is in love with Shawn. She is afraid that if Alex marries someone else he will stop giving Shawn his blood, and the engagement is her way of keeping him where he is. Alex is reborn, and this time he knows all of it. He stops asking his family for affection and Faye for love. He buys an island, moves there by himself and cuts off contact with the Falkners and with Faye. When Faye learns the truth she searches for him and regrets what she did. By then Alex has people around him who treat him as family.
