Illegitimate Heir, Legendary Gambler

Victor Sheen, the head of a family that runs gambling houses, forced himself on the housekeeper, Jane Sutton, and she gave birth to a son, Evan. She stayed on in the house. For years the two of them were looked down on by everyone in it, and the second son, Timothy Sheen, humiliated them in front of others whenever he pleased. Evan developed tuberculosis and was close to death. Hank Shaw, called the God of Gamblers in Great Xia, woke up in Evan's body. It happened on the day of Victor's birthday feast. The feast turned into a gambling contest, and Victor announced that the Sheen family's money would go only to whoever gambled best. Jane knelt and knocked her head on the floor in front of the guests to plead for her son. Hank watched her do it and got the body onto its feet. 'Enough,' he said, and told the table he would play the wager himself to keep his mother from being trampled any further. The body he was in still had the tuberculosis.
