Synopsis

I Wish It Were You is a romantic drama about a fated arranged marriage and a case of mistaken identity that keeps two soulmates apart for far too long. Isabel Scott is a kind, hardworking young woman who enters an arranged marriage with a stranger named Jared Foster at her grandmother's request. The double-identity conceit only holds if you accept that she never once looks her own husband in the face, and the show never sells that. Once you're past it, the leads are perfectly watchable and the office scenes have some charge. Competent, forgettable.

My favorite of his modern-set work and honestly my favorite short drama full stop. You get the complete unhinged-psycho performance, and I'd say his acting leveled up here. If you're working through his filmography, this is the one.
