A Broken Blade Still Kills

Eliot Howard is the eldest son of the Howard family, and the family never thought much of him, because his talent was ordinary. Ten years ago, on a rainy night, he brought home Jacob, a beggar boy with a rare gift. Jacob won the affection of the family that Eliot had never had, then cut off Eliot's arm and framed him, and Eliot spent the next ten years locked up. When he comes out, his fiancée has already turned on him. He cuts ties with the Howards and follows the leader of the Solar Sect to learn the sword. After three years of training he is made the sect's new leader. The Howard family, by then, has fallen on hard times and is close to collapse.
