Selina spent five years as the wife of a rich man and did not work. Then her husband began an affair with another woman, and the people around the couple joined against her until she signed the divorce papers and left. She took a job in a shoe shop doing shoe care for a living. While everyone who knew her was calling her a cast-off, a rich man of unclear background came to her with an offer of a marriage on contract, to run three years. He put it to her as an investment in what he thought she could become. She accepted on the spot. At the registry office she completed the divorce and the new marriage on the same day, then went after her share of the marital property through legal channels, which came as a blow to her former husband and the other woman. With her own head for business and her new husband's backing, she goes back into the commercial world and starts building a position of her own.
